SAP loses against Versata for patent infringement

Versata, a leading management solutions business rules and configuration products won the lawsuit which opposes SAP since April 2007 as part of a case of violation of five of its software patents.

Convicted of the facts which were alleged, SAP was ordered to pay $ 138.6 million in damages to Versata. Patents have been the subject of this litigation covered include methods for configuring systems and multi-source transaction process used by Versata in its solutions.
